Despite the changes at The Moor/Sheffield, life still goes on and shoppers around the market stands are still generating an atmosphere of hustle and bustle, but the buildings around The Moor are waiting to be demolished.
I am interested in how single elements from a foreign environment work, when they are taken out of their surrounding and put into a new context.

Waiting, installation detail, The Moor/Sheffield, 2010 |
A raised hide (very common for hunting in Central Europe) is where hunters hide and wait for a deer to appear so they can then 'demolish' it. For me, hides are a symbol for waiting, thereby linking these foreign objects to The Moor. There is also a certain irony, having these hides in such a public place as this shop window, when they are usually found hidden in the woods and fields of Central Europe.
I am hoping to add a little bit of humour and light heartedness in times fo mixed emotions at The Moor.
