I am interested in how single elements from a foreign environment work when they are taken out of their space and put into a neutral context. What becomes of them? How do people react to them?
In Morocco, ‘tagines’ come in all imaginable colours and sizes harbouring precious substances such as musk, spices and delicious food.

Precious, close up |
In the piece Precious, I use sound recordings of different public situations in Morocco. I relocate the sounds to a gallery space, containing them in self made white plaster tagines, which are inhabited by little speakers. The tagines are placed in two rows facing each other on an aluminium-top table.
